Welcome to Deepwood Fiction. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Deepwood Fiction website, content, emails, and related products and services (collectively, the "Services").

1. About Deepwood Fiction

Deepwood Fiction ("Deepwood Fiction," "we," "us," or "our") provides fiction content, story installments, email communications, and related digital products.

You may view and read content for personal, non-commercial use only.

5. Email Subscriptions

If you subscribe to receive emails from Deepwood Fiction, you agree to provide accurate information. By subscribing, you agree to receive story installments, updates, and occasional promotional emails from us.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in the email.

We reserve the right to remove subscribers from our email lists or suspend email access at our discretion.

6. Purchases and Third-Party Checkout

Certain products or paid content associated with Deepwood Fiction may be offered for purchase through Gumroad or other third-party platforms.

All purchases are processed by the applicable third-party platform, not by Deepwood Fiction directly. We do not collect or store your full payment card information. Your purchase, payment, refund, billing, and checkout experience may also be subject to the third party’s own terms, policies, and procedures.

We are not responsible for the operation of third-party checkout platforms, though we may provide support relating to our own content and delivery.

7. Digital Products and Access

When you purchase a digital product or paid content associated with Deepwood Fiction, you are purchasing a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to access that content for your own personal use, subject to these Terms and any applicable platform rules.

You may not share, redistribute, resell, repost, or publicly distribute purchased content unless expressly authorized in writing.

We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or update content, offers, or product structures at any time.

8. User Communications

If you contact Deepwood Fiction, submit a form, or otherwise communicate with us, you agree that your submission will not contain unlawful, threatening, abusive, infringing, deceptive, or otherwise harmful material.

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, or services, including Kit, Gumroad, Ghost, and other external sites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, security, or practices of third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deepwood Fiction disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deepwood Fiction will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deepwood Fiction’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid, if any, to Deepwood Fiction for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Deepwood Fiction from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:

  • your use of the Services
  • your violation of these Terms
  • your violation of any law or the rights of a third party

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to all or part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if doing so is necessary to protect Deepwood Fiction, its users, or others.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
